Walmart Beauty Box: Spring 2015 (a review!)...

Walmart Beauty Box review Spring 2015 | yourwishcake.com
After my great experience with last season's Walmart Beauty Box, I was pretty eager to get the latest version. For some reason, it seems like I was skipped in the shipping process (not sure if anyone else has dealt with this!) and most boxes were shipped out the first part of March. Well, April rolled around and I never received anything, so I finally contacted them. I never received a response (from what I hear, their customer service for this subscription box is not the best) but finally received an automated email saying my box had shipped. Even though it was a couple months late, and everyone and their mother has already reviewed the contents, I still wanted to give my review!

As a reminder, this Beauty Box ships only four times a year (once per season) and costs only $5 per box, including shipping. You can sign up here if you're interested in receiving your own, and it seems like they make it pretty easy to cancel your subscription if you end up not loving it. (PS: I don't receive anything when you sign up and pay for each of these boxes myself—I'm just sharing the goodness because many of you have had good luck with these boxes and, hey, it's only $5!)

Here's what I received:

Jergens BB Body Skin Perfecting Cream — The idea that one would use lotion to "perfect" their skin (whatever that means) makes me roll my eyes slightly, but I'm sure I'll get some good use out of it! I'm kind of a fan of lotion samples. It definitely smells lovely and feels great on my skin (which is, clearly, now PERFECT).

St. Ives Blackhead Clearing Green Tea Scrub — I was pretty excited about this sample, because I never have a travel size facial scrub on hand when I need it. Plus, I've been an avid user of St. Ives scrubs for years now! I've never tried this one, so I'm eager to give it a whirl.

Dove Go Fresh Body Wash — This is another product I've used many times over the years, but I've never tried this scent (which is, quite frankly, divine). I love body wash samples, so this is perfect!

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters Facial Cleanser — Another product I'll definitely use! I've never tried this specific facial cleanser, but I may tuck it into my hospital bag to try out at that point.

Lady Gaga Fame Perfume — I don't consider myself a Lady Gaga fan or avid perfume user, but this sample smells nice and will make me feel fancy when I put it on before a trip to the laundromat. (I live a glamorous life.) I never buy perfume, so it's actually kind of fun to have something like this on hand!

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes — I recently bought a bunch of these from Amazon when I came across a deal that made a 2-pack less than $2 (and covered the rest of the cost with gift cards I earned from Swagbucks, making them totally free!). Because I'm still going through some other facial wipes I opened previously, I haven't tried these yet—but they have great reviews on Amazon, so I can't wait to try them out.

Additional samples/coupons: Ken Paves shampoo/conditioner/conditioning mask foil sample packets, Nivea in-shower body lotion sample and coupon, and coupon for one free Dove dry spray deodorant (up to $5.47 value, which is pretty awesome!).

After taking a look at some other reviews of this season's box, it seems there were a couple versions: one a bit better than the other. The "better" version included a full size mascara, which would have totally made the $5 price tag more than worth it. I'm a little bummed there were no full size products in mine—mostly because last season's box had two. Still, I can't really complain, considering I received six product samples in this box (not counting the ones on the marketing materials) and only four last time around. Plus, I know I will get use out of every single item—which makes it a win for me! (The free deodorant coupon alone may very well cover the price of this box, so that's a deal in itself.)
