my weekly to-dos...

Firstly, I'm officially now less than 3 months away from my due date. My body definitely got the memo on this, as my exhaustion seems to have returned—with the addition of heart burn and a tight, heavy feeling in my belly. Those aren't so much complaints (the symptoms are definitely bearable!) as they are an observation on how quickly things change during pregnancy. One month ago I hardly felt pregnant, aside from baby kicks and not fitting into my pants—and even a couple weeks ago I had a couple people tell me I didn't even look pregnant (I begged to differ, of course). But there's no hiding it at this point in the game, and it's so exciting to think we are so close to meeting this little gal. If all those first months flew by so quickly, I can only imagine how July will be here before we know it.

Secondly, thanks to everyone who took the time to enter my weekend giveaway! Congrats to the winner, Heather Rose of the adorable Mad Shiny Shoppe, who will be receiving the box o' goodness later on this week. (And I'll be keeping an eye out for something fun to host a giveaway for next month, as well!)

I mostly dropped the ball on taking photos for the past week, but here's a look at last week's goals, and a couple thoughts on homeschooling, too):
Last week's goals:

Marriage, Motherhood & Home Life
 — Work on patience with Eisley
 — Create loose meal plan for the rest of April
 — Complete "school" worksheets with Eisley daily (completed Mon-Fri and am loving returning to this routine!)
 — Finish Eisley's baby book

Self
 — Daily bible reading
 — Finish reading one book
 — Wake up before Eisley every day (been entirely too exhausted to manage this)

Creativity & Blogging
 — Try to create an almost-daily blogging schedule

Miscellany
 — Send one piece of snail mail
 — Earn one gift card from Swagbucks (should have enough for my $25 goal by Tuesday, though!)

In case anyone is curious, here are the books we have been using most for our "homeschool" time every day (as we ease back into a daily routine!). One of my mom's good friends generously gave us a bunch of leftover workbooks that she had been using while homeschooling her granddaughter, most of which were hardly used at all. These three are my favorites and I definitely recommend any of them to use with your preschool aged child!

Next month, I'll post a few additional thoughts (and a more thorough list of resources as I discover them for myself) on how I work with Eisley to encourage learning without enrolling her in a traditional preschool. Only time will tell if/when we'll send her to public or private school—but for now private school (which I much prefer) is entirely out of our budget, and when I think about most public schools around here my face looks a little bit like the stink-eye emoji. (True story.)

In any case, here is my list for the week ahead:
This week's goals:

Marriage, Motherhood & Home Life
 — Begin 3 eBooks (from this bundle)
 — Begin Grocery University eCourse (also from this bundle!)
 — Take Eisley on a lady date
 — Start gathering info to create monthly budget

Self
 — Daily bible reading
 — Work on clearing email inbox
 — Earlier bedtime (so I can hopefully start my days before Eisley wakes)

Creativity & Blogging
 — Begin creating pregnancy/newborn photobook for Eisley (I have a code for a free book from Shutterfly—hurrah!)

Miscellany
 — Upload all iPhone photos to our desktop
 — Continue actively searching for new rental

Hope everyone has a beautiful Monday! And please keep us in your prayers when it comes to our search for a 2BR rental that is both affordable and in a non-murdery area. (I feel like we're getting to the point where we would have to settle on something, and that is not really my jam.) Thank you!

  1. You're the most gracious mommy to be. I imagine myself breathing fire, and massacring villages at that point of pregnancy.

Thank you so much for having this giveaway, and I'm so excited I won! Just let me know where to send my address when you find time to ship. <3

    2. Haha, I hope you're right about that! ;) And if you'd send me your mailing address (wishcakeblog[at]gmail.com) I can pop your items in the mail later on this week. Congrats again on winning! I always get a little excited when giveaway winners are people I know. :)

    1. Hope you have some good luck finding a place soon, too! It's really the most frustrating thing. :(

    1. Thank you! And it definitely comes and goes with her handwriting—some days I can hardly get her to write an 'E' with the correct number of lines. She likes to be stubborn. :)

And thanks for the finger-crossing! We're down to the wire now, so I'm not even sure it's possible to find something we can move into before the baby comes along.
