things that made me swoon in March...

things that made me swoon in March |
1. St. Ives Even & Bright Facial Scrub — I've used the apricot scrub by this brand for years, and have always loved how it makes my skin soft and smooth. However, I think this version is even better, because the actual scrub feels much less abrasive than the apricot version, and I feel better using it more often. The scrub is very fine and doesn't take much to cover my whole face. And it smells quite lovely!

2. Gretchen Rubin's Happier Podcast — This is definitely a new favorite! This podcast, which is hosted by one of my favorite authors and her sister, comes out once a week and offers 20 minutes of commentary, a weekly happiness challenge, and some tidbits about the hosts' own happiness successes and failures throughout the past week. (I also love the dynamic between the two hosts/sisters. It makes me smile.) If you enjoyed Gretchen's books, you will definitely want to give this a listen. And if you haven't yet read her books, I feel like this podcast is the perfect introduction! It feels rare to find a podcast that is the perfect length and consistently offers up those lightbulb moments that keep you thinking all week long. This one may be new, but it already has me looking forward to every new episode.

3. One Year of Devotions for Preschoolers by Crystal Bowman — One of my goals this year has been to begin daily devotions with Eisley. I randomly bought this book on Amazon and we started going through it this month (better late than never!). I absolutely love it and recommend it to any mama of a preschool-age child! These devotions are sweet and simple, and every day you have a small story (which includes questions throughout, which I find helps my daughter relate to each lesson/virtue within each story), a bible verse and a short prayer to say together. The same characters are used throughout the entire book, which I enjoy, and it is the perfect way to begin storytime before bed every night. Each devotion doesn't take more than a few minutes, but I love how each one can easily spark a deeper conversation with your child—and is something you can talk about the morning after, to reaffirm what was taught.

4. Method Disney Shampoo + Body Wash — I received this in my ePantry shipment this month (their price was better than Amazon!) and am already so impressed by how well it works on Eisley's hair. From the first use, her hair was visibly shinier and easier to brush. That totally sounds like an ad, but it's true—I promise! I haven't been impressed by many shampoos I've tried for the younger set, but this one I'm definitely going to purchase again. Plus, it smells a bit like heaven. I'd say it's definitely a winner!

5. Talenti Gelato — Being the thrifty shopper I am, even I am surprised by the fact that I splurged on not one, but two pints of this rather pricey deliciousness in March. In my defense, they had a BoGo sale on gelato at Sprouts. And the fudge brownie flavor may or may not have whispered sweet nothings in my ear. Regardless, it was an incredibly delicious treat, and I'm going to keep my eye out for any sales in the future that will feed my new obsession! (Sometimes it feels good to splurge on something, anyway, when I think of how much money I save on groceries every week.)

  1. TALENTI GELATO IS EVERYTHING. The sea salt caramel flavor is to die for.

  2. I think I need to try this gelato. I've heard so much about it.
