Yes, I'm currently rereading the Duggars' book (I first read it over a year ago) and am not ashamed to say I'm loving it just as much the second time around. I keep trying to pick up random fiction or popular memoirs here and there, but I mostly end up putting them down and going instead for something that I find encouraging and (for lack of a better word) gentle on my heart. I don't even care if that makes me come across as some sort of giant marshmallow.
I'm working on an updated post on how I earn gift cards by using Swagbucks (I feel like things over there have changed a bit since I wrote about it last!) but currently there's a pretty good deal going on right now if you're planning on making an in-store purchase from The Body Shop. When you make a purchase with your Visa card for $20, you'll receive 2,000 Swagbucks on your account—which is, essentially, 100% back. The 2,000 Swagbucks will get you $20 in gift cards from their site (from Amazon to Target to Starbucks to many others). You have to connect your card to this deal before you shop, but I can vouch for the system because last year I completed a similar deal at Old Navy. Click here for the details and all that goodness!
A few blog posts of note that I've come across recently and especially loved: When She Gets That Thing You Really Wanted by Crystal of Money Saving Mom, Craigslist vs. Thrift Shop by Amanda of Be Crafty, and Casper's Birth Story by Summer Harms.
This weekend I was quite happy to stock up on greeting cards from Dayspring—one of my favorite companies. (Their Daily Grace collection is my favorite.) I purchased a gift for a friend, a couple sets of adorable postcards (will host a giveaway for the extra set next month!) and a few boxes of cards with their current buy-2-get-1-free promotion. (Which means I bought 36 cards for around .36 each.) Also, if you use the code FREE30 you can get free shipping on orders over $30.
Snacks that currently have my heart: a bowl of cheerios (any hour of the day, but especially at night), sliced orange peppers with hummus, Disneyland popcorn, and ice cream sandwiches.
