a small list of good things...

image
Welp, this week has packed quite a punch, so all I've got today is a blog post, bullet-point-style. And a legit sunburn on my left arm because I pushed a bunch of 3 year olds on the swings in the apparently scorching November sun for a solid 20 minutes this morning. (Should one remember to apply sunscreen in early-November? I'm ready for a blizzard that would shut down the city, please and thank you.)

Onto the list! Here are some things I've come across this week and wanted to share:

+ So, everyone is raving about the Serial Podcast, and I fully approve of the hype. I listened to the first 6 episodes in two days and it is just so good. In short, it is a true-crime story, told week-by-week by a journalist who is investigating an old case in which the person charged with the crime may have been wrongfully convicted. It is very well done and there's no way my description could do it justice. Just go ahead and download it and let me know what you think! (I'm a total sucker for any sort of true crime story. My dad was a cop for most of my life, so perhaps I inherited that fascination from him! Now, if only I could stomach an actual crime scene, I may have been able to follow in his footsteps…)

+ Tiny Prints is currently running a promo for 10 free holiday cards, which I am planning on taking advantage of this weekend. I used Tiny Prints for Eisley's birth announcements back in the day, and they turned out beautifully. Click here to shop, and be sure to use the promo code 10FREECARDS to snag them for free (shipping not included). This promotion is good through next Wednesday, November the 12th!

+ If you're looking for something to do with surplus Halloween candy, I recommend trying these monster cookies from The Girl Who Ate Everything. We had purchased a bag of mini M&Ms for Halloween and had no trick-or-treaters, so I was excited to dump most of them into this recipe. They turned out rather delicious. (I may or may not be eating one right now.)

+ I'm still working to perfect my hand-lettered blog banner, and this tutorial I found on Pinterest is most helpful. I love seeing the entire process from start to finish! We'll see if I can get something I'm head-over-heels for completed by the end of the year. (My perfectionistic tendencies are getting the best of me, once again.)

+ I want to make some stockings this year (some for us, and possibly some to tuck smaller gifts inside) and I think I could totally make a DIY version of this felt stocking from Anthropologie. I'm kind of excited about it, actually. I'll be sure to show you the result!

Affiliate links included in this post. Yep, yep.
