my weekly to-dos...

Let me start off this post by saying how much of a challenge this hot and humid weather has been—especially on the week I was determined to work on having a more positive attitude. I don't live in Florida for a reason, and that reason is HUMIDITY, for the love of all things holy. I still crossed it off because I did try and did succeed in some ways (and failed miserably in others, but there's still progress that was made). In any case, I'm hoping I can avoid being a negative nancy when we go camping with a bunch of people later this month. (This is one of those things that sounded so fun until it was right around the corner, and now I'm all, "REGRETS! SO MANY REGRETS!")

Anyway, moving on...

Our family birthday month has officially begun, and now I'm realizing how close we are to Eisley's birthday. I'm not a big party kind-of-a-gal (especially because our place is too small to host anything with more than a few people—especially in the summer, when we don't know if it's going to be too hot without air conditioning). I have a couple ideas floating around in my head, so hopefully something will come together for the weekend before her actual birthday. I can hardly believe she's going to be three. Three!

Here's a look at last week's to-do list, as well as a new list for the week ahead:

Last week's goals:

Marriage, Motherhood & Home Life
 — Work on a positive attitude (esp. around my husband)
 — Deep clean/organize something
 — Take Eisley somewhere new

 — Splurge on something I need
 — Run 3 times

 — Work on snail mail project/post how-to on blog (scheduled for tomorrow!)
 — Write, write, write

 — Send one piece of snail mail
 — Earn at least one $5 gift card from Swagbucks
 — Tackle email inbox

Since I don't have any photos specifically relating to last week's list, here is a random photo of what my child does when given a couple rolls of washi tape, and also maybe a reason to be glad she is currently an only child (for the record, she told me she had to cover the baby's eyes because there was going to be a "big noise"):
Oh, the humanity.

This week's goals:

Marriage, Motherhood & Home Life
 — Make birthday plans for Eisley
 — Continue working on a positive attitude
 — Date night with Jay
 — Start gathering ideas for homeschooling Eisley this fall

 — Run 10 miles
 — Read one book (currently reading Confessions of a Jane Austen Addict)
 — Read scripture every day

 — Finish granny square blanket (since I ran out of yarn, I'll have to pull out a couple rows and re-do the edging)

 — Send one piece of snail mail
 — Earn at least one $5 gift card from Swagbucks

Have a beautiful week, friends!

  1. That picture of Eisley's doll made me laugh out loud :) I did some home school with Topher last year (preschool), starting in January. He thought it was a game, he had so much fun! This week I want to get a couple of articles written for work and organize a list of publications I want to write for. Those things have been on my list for a month now but since Topher's going to be at VBS a couple of mornings a week, I might actually get them done this week :D
