I recently put this little illustration together and am pretty darn happy with how it turned out. I see so many beautiful things of this nature floating around Pinterest, and it feels good to try something new-ish and be proud of the result! For reference, I drew this with a black colored pencil on white artist paper, then took a photo (our scanner/printer seems to be on the fritz), then uploaded the image to Photoshop Elements to sharpen/clean-up/add color. (Here's a tiny tutorial-ish sort of thing I put together a while ago, if you're interested. Let me know if you use it to make something; I'd love to see!)
I would love to put together a series of prints to sell on Etsy this winter, but I think we all know that may not actually happen. (So many goals! So little time! Sweet mercy!) I also have every intention of creating some custom illustrations to frame and give as Christmas gifts, so I'll be sure to share the result of that endeavor.
I'm trying to make more time for tiny bits of creativity throughout my day, but some weeks it just doesn't happen. Still, I keep telling myself that finding time for these things is so important—after all, it's where I find much of my calm, my center, and all of those general warm-fuzzies. Creating things with my hands, and completing a project…there's nothing quite like it.
