an ode to the dollar store...

Ode to the dollar store | yourwishcake.com
Eisley and I are regulars at the dollar store. I'm not even going to apologize for that, because it's kind of heaven for both toddlers and cheap ol' ladies like myself. I let Eisley walk around on her own, because there's nothing she can really destroy there (except she is forbidden from roaming the glasswares aisle; I'm not that crazy) and she enjoys having the opportunity to roam free.

I came across a few great finds in the past month, and felt the need to snap a photo and share it here! (Because why not? Also, I have approximately fifteen wordy posts that I've been trying to put together, but I've learned that I can't always rush things like that. Enter: photo-y posts!)

1. I hope to fill this coral planter with something I don't inadvertently murder. I may end up filling it with candy. That may be safer, as well as slightly more delicious.

2. I was a little too excited to find a book that actually caught my eye. (Tori Spelling is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. No shame.)

3. I think I'm going to use this small planner for meal planning and/or as an editorial calendar for blog posts. (Have I mentioned I've been reading a lot of blogging e-books and am actually pretty excited for the upcoming year?).

4. These two owls complete me. And also help me from spending all my money on seasonal decor from Target. You're welcome, Jay!

On days when I feel like I really just need to buy something random for myself, this is where I go. Don't knock the dollar store till you run around one with a toddler for a solid thirty minutes. It's a surprisingly good time.

  1. I love shopping at the dollar store (and the Dollar Spot at Target) for seasonal things. They have a surprisingly nice selection sometimes!

  2. I haven't been to a dollar store in a while, but I am unashamedly addicted to TJMaxx and their random little home goods stuff. Like Target....except there aren't thousands of other people buying the exact same thing!

  4. My sister and I found great kids mitts at a dollar store today, and later in the day a friend was telling us about the mitts she found at the dollar store. Considering how many mitts my child seems to somehow lose in a season, can't beat that price!

  7. I haven't been to the dollar store in forever. You've inspired me to check it out! Also, love the idea of using a smaller planner for meal planning.

  9. I recently discovered the GENIUS and PERFECTION that is this store. I am never buying paper towels (and other paper products), garbage bags or a flat of water bottles anywhere else ever again. Promise.
