on things that made me swoon in May...

May swoonage

1. Miranda Lambert's Revolution — Oh, this album. I'm so behind, as this was released years ago, but I'm currently obsessed with it. I picked up the CD for a couple bucks at a thrift store earlier this year (the only way to buy CDs, truly) and this month I've pretty much fallen in love with the entire thing. Favorite tracks: Airstream Song, The House That Built Me (which, by the way, always makes me cry a little bit), Love Song, Heart Like Mine, Dead Flowers.

2. Blue Moon Blackberry Tart Ale — I recently picked up a seasonal 12-pack of Blue Moon, featuring several different types of beer, and this one was my absolute favorite of the lot. If you're a fan of Sam Adams Cherry Wheat (or any other beer with a hint of fruit and pure happiness), then you'll definitely love this. Truthfully, I want to drink it every single night. (But I don't, so you can calm down over there, judgy pants.)

3. Beauty for Ashes (free printable!) by armommy — I have yet to get paper other than the plain old flimsy stuff, but once I upgrade to something decent, this is going to be the first thing I print out to frame. Also, if you take the time to read the story behind this piece of artwork, it is just as beautiful as the print itself.

4. SONOMA Chevron Rug from Kohls — I mentioned this rug in a recent post, but thought I'd link to it here, considering it's on sale for only $12. Shall we be matchy-matchy and have the same rugs in our kitchens? Let's do this thing.

5. Handmade ballet flats by ele. — These shoes are so gorgeous, I almost wish I was willing to spend more than $20 on flats. Consider these beauties added to my "if only" wish list! You should take a peek at all her other handmade shoes, too. I love coming across shops like this on Etsy—so impressive and inspiring.

Now it's your turn to share any wonderful things that have made you swoon this month! I'm all ears.

  1. I'm currently swooning over Tieks, but never in a million years would I spend that much money on shoes.

I want that beer now! Were the other beers in the case any good? I prefer blue moon on draft to in the bottle. But I love me some blueberry flavored ANYTHING!

    1. I know I already tweeted this info to you, but in case any one else is wondering:

Yes, all the flavors in the case were delish! I just wish I could find an entire case of the Blackberry one, though, because it was that good. :)

  3. That rug is adorable! Also, I kind of want to be best friends with Miranda Lambert, except she is way to too cool for me. (Have you heard her side project--the Pistol Annies? I am obsessed with their new album... and their old album.)

  4. Jared learned how to play / sing The House That Built Me on acoustic guitar. Oh man, I want to cry and make out with him at the same time.

    1. Oh, my gosh. I'm insanely jealous. Can he sing for me? I won't try to make out with him, but I may want to hug him for a second.

  5. I love Miranda Lambert and fell in love with her because of that album. If you like that album of hers, you'll probably like her band called Pistol Annies. They have two fun, great CDS out.

  6. Miranda Lambert is *amazing*! I adore her. I also love Blue Moon ale and oh my gosh, BLACKBERRY?! I think Jen and I would love that and my mother-in-law is in love with blackberry wine or er, whiskey... or something... so she may as well!

  7. Thanks for sharing, Kerri! Sweet rug! I'm pretty obsessed with all things chevron, especially when they're on sale. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm currently swooning over/inspired by Zach Sobiech and his little band: http://youtu.be/9NjKgV65fpo. I bought their whole album on iTunes. Have you heard "Star Hopping?" It's pretty awesome.

  8. I would never ever judge you if you drank a Blue Moon every night, so long as you don't judge me for doing the same ;) Blue Moon is my FAVORITE!

Also, I have (and posted about too) that exact rug, but in blue and LOVE it. Nothing wrong with being matchy! :)
