on mailing photos (the pretty way)...

Sending photos the pretty way.
I recently ordered a bunch of photo prints and needed to send a few to my in-laws. As a side note, as much as I love digital photography, I hate that it has made me such a lazy photo printer. I have hundreds of photos on my computer, but rarely spend the time to upload them to Shutterfly or Snapfish (or wherever happens to be offering free prints because I'm cheap).

When I went to pop the photos in the mail, I came up with a super-simple way to make it a bit more…well, pretty. And, also, I have stacks and stacks of paper that I'm just never going to use—so, now's a good a time as any, eh? I simply wrapped some paper around the photos to keep them sturdy, placed a note inside (with the top part peeking out, because I'm quite obsessed with Rifle Paper Co.), taped it up with my trusty washi tape, and tied it up with a bit of twine.

Pop it into a photo mailer, and there you go!

Can you spot the Olan Mills logo peeking out of the bottom corner? Oh, yeah, baby. Church directory photos. You know how we do.

I'm glad the current set does not involve the picked bangs, ruffled dresses, and uncomfortable wool tights of my childhood. (Although, I do look back on those photos with a certain fondness. What a simpler time. One that was free of bootie shorts, Facebook, and Ke$ha.) We had our family's first directory photos taken last year, and they actually turned out really cute! Eisley was just a nugget at that point, but she was totally smiling like a champ. I can't believe it took me so long to send Jay's parents a copy.

Maybe now I'll get around to sending the other photos I have floating around here…only time will tell…

    2. Both my husband and I have some very entertaining Olan Mills church directory photos of each of our childhoods. The 90s were all about the big hair and big sweaters…haha… ;)
