on some November swoonage...

November Swoonage
1. Caramel BrulĂ©e Latte from Starbucks — I've try to treat myself to fancy coffee a few times a month. My go-to beverage is usually a grande caramel Frappucino (with or without whip, depending on how rebellious I'm feeling at the moment). But I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks the other day (tis the season!) and chose this latte. It was heaven. I'm having a love affair with this drink. Don't tell Jay.

2. Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn — This is one novel that definitely lives up to the hype. I devoured this book in a matter of days and was a hot mess of emotions the whole time. Fantastic read (that is most definitely for adults only, says the girl with younger sisters who read her blog).

3. Shop Swap from oh, hello friend — Danni is one of my original bloggy friends. She is such a gem! She periodically hosts swaps on her blog, and I thought I'd sign up for her most recent Shop Swap. All participants had to own their own crafty sort of shop, and we were to send a box of goodies from their shop to the person they were assigned to. (I'm a little late—my box will be shipping next week!) I was paired with Amanda of My Little Dear and received the most GORGEOUS box of items. I will hopefully do a post on the box next month because I can't not share the goodness. (You have to check out Amanda's blog, too. She is all kinds of wonderful.)

4. Born and Raised by John Mayer — To be honest, I wasn't over-the-moon for this album when I first purchased it right after it was released. I've been in love with his music before I had even heard him on the radio, and this album is much, much different than his typical sound. It has a very folksy and down-home country vibe. Which is a style I typically enjoy, but coming from him it threw me for a loop. I ended up revisiting the album this month and I (surprise, surprise) now can't stop listening to it. Favorite tracks: Age of Worry; Whiskey, Whiskey, Whiskey; Queen of California.

5. Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Tiger Lily — I picked this up simply because the Tiger Lily shade was on clearance. (I'm a sucker for clearance tags at CVS. Gives me an excuse to try something new without paying full price. Guilt-free shopping!) Although it wouldn't have been my first pick of all the colors they offer, I'm in love with the incredibly smooth feel of this lip balm and the very, very small touch of color it adds once applied.

  2. I enjoyed Gone Girl so much! Such a crazy read, I'm quite curious to see how it translates to the big screen. And that Starbucks drink sounds amazing. I usually stick to my usual but I may have to branch out and give that one a shot too.

  4. The Caramel Brulee latte is just as fantastic over ice! I tend to judge coffee drink awesomeness when it can be enjoyed at different temperatures :)

  5. Gone Girl is an awesome book. I was thinking of the book today, I don't know why, and just how messed up it was. I love reads like that though, that just suck you in. Glad you enjoyed it as well.
