on my incredibly modest child...

Long story short? The baby is looking just fine and dandy. Healthy heart, two arms, two legs, measuring perfectly. Which is a huge relief! (I need to stay off the pregnancy boards. They scare me. It's official.) As far as the sex of the child? Well, he/she felt the need to spend the entire 45 minute ultrasound with its legs crossed. Like, completely crossed. Tightly. Despite the moving and shaking of two ultrasound technicians and I.
There was even a moment during the whole process where it turned its face towards us and looked into our eyes through the ultrasound screen and was all like, "SUCKAS!" (Or something to that effect.)
Three more weeks, my friends. Three more weeks and then hopefully we'll get an answer at our next appointment! As for now, I'm just thrilled to know everything is looking good and that the wee one is happily floating around in the abyss. Needlessly taunting me with every tiny kick, but happy just the same.

"Keeping the mystery alive since 2010!" Bahahahaa. Well, I cannot wait to see what your family is expecting. I know another couple who just went in and their baby did the same thing! Babies in rebellion perhaps?
ReplyDelete:)
So suspenseful!! I'm happy everything is looking beautiful and healthy. :-D
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I like this kid already.
ReplyDeleteACK!!!!! Love that your kid is so modest...and clearly wants us to keep coming back for more!
ReplyDeleteI have to say Selena did the same thing throughout the entire pregnancy. We didn't find out what she was going to be until she was born. This made me chuckle remembering how bad we wanted to know what to buy, pink or blue.
ReplyDeleteAwww, at least it's happy and healthy :) Keeping up the suspense! :)
ReplyDeleteAugh! So excruciating! We thought for sure we'd find out at 17 weeks but he would not budge, so then we had to wait another three weeks for 20 weeks. (I had a lot of ultrasounds b/c I was high risk. It was like we were in there every couple of weeks.) I hope the next two weeks fly for you. Knowing you could know but don't is SO hard!
ReplyDeleteBaby wishcake must have somehow read your last post and wanted you to continue "enjoying this time of not knowing"! As for staying off the pregnancy boards b/c they scare you....I suppose it's just like watching I survived. It's impossible to stop watching but every night I go to bed terrified there is a ninja in my attic.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you didn't get your answer today but it is wonderful that everything looks great with your baby. Perhaps you just have a modest little baby. I wouldn't know much about that. My son, in the womb and beyond, is the type to grab his ankles and give you a full show of his junk.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad Baby is happy and healthy :D How often do you do ultrasounds? I only had one when I was pregnant and it was SO painful. Gosh. Making a pregnant lady drink tons of water and not pee?!? You'd think by now they'd have come up with a better way of doing things ....
ReplyDeleteI still love it already! Precious!
ReplyDeleteDang it! That's so funny and cute though :)
ReplyDeleteHis/her modest is quite cute! I wish you had been able to find out, but the important thing is that he/she is healthy!!
ReplyDeleteWhen we went for our ultrasound, our little boy had his legs wide open almost the entire time! His gender was no mystery at all!
Yay for healthy babies! :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute, glad he/she is happy and healthy!
ReplyDeleteSo glad that the baby is healthy and it's a little bit funny that the legs were crossed the entire time. Hopefully they won't be next time!
ReplyDeletecheeky!
ReplyDeleteglad everything looks good :)
Aww, that's adorable! At least he/she is doing good! So excited for you! (I'm a long-time lurker of your blog, but I'm so excited that you're having a baby that I just had to comment.) Everybody around me seems to be having babies except me. I NEED A BABY! And a husband...
ReplyDeleteSo cute Kerri! This same situation happened to another friend of mine who was pregnant. The baby would not show its parts! It was killing all of us! I still think...girl.
ReplyDeleteI mean, really. That's just funny.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear your little one is healthy!
Aww, your baby is playing around with you already!
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty cute.
Congrats on the healthy baby!
ReplyDeleteI am so ridiculously excited. This bundle of joy is going to be the best thing ever to come to California. Period. =D
ReplyDelete-Tina bo bina banana fana...
p.s. I sents you an email...
so incredibly sweet!
ReplyDeleteBummer! But at least he/she is healthy!
ReplyDeleteAww! So does this mean it's a girl? Being modest and all?! ;) My best friend's daughter kept her legs tightly crossed her entire pregnancy so she wasn't able to find out before her daughter was born! Hopefully, you'll be able to find out in 3 weeks! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a teaser! Hannah had her legs crossed too, but the tech took a guess that she was a girl, so I went with it without really knowing for sure. I was a teeny bit shocked when they announced that she actually was a girl!
ReplyDeleteIt's definitely a girl. A little boy would be flaunting his package :) So glad everything is looking good with your little Miss or Mister!
ReplyDelete45 minutes, he/she is trying to be coy it sounds. I'm sure you will find out soon, what an exciting time!!
ReplyDeleteI love what Amy said "It's definitely a girl. A little boy would be flaunting his package :)" hahaha so true ! ;) but what's wonderful is that he/she is healthy ! :)
ReplyDeleteHehe, that's so funny. I love that your baby is already going through a stubborn phase. I'm so excited for you two to finally find out the sex though! I'm sure it will add a whole new dynamic to the relationship you're developing with that little peanut :)
ReplyDeleteHow adorable! Hopefully you will be finding out the gender during your next appointment. :) So excited and thrilled for you!
ReplyDeleteI think you're having a girl.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why.
But...I've guessed correctly on every other pregnant blogger this year!
He/She's not even born and already giving you trouble! Better to have this rebellious stage now rather than once he/she is born! :)
ReplyDeletePS Just came over from Leigh Ashley and really liking your blog!!
This made me giggle!! And the pregnancy boards are most frightening, but with that said, I met one of my very best friends thru the one on webmd (its totally different now than it used to be 5 years ago).
ReplyDeleteHope you catch the little one a little more "exposed" at the next appointment.
Oh, it's totally a girl! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd glad everything is good. (Not just pregnancy boards are full of bad stories! I know way, way too many awful stories. It's bad news bears for any future pregnancies I might have. Feel very lucky and blessed!)
