on a bit of goodness...

pears.

A few good things:

1. New curtains in my office at work. (I used the same idea as I did in this post, except I used a pretty tea-towel that only cost $2.99. Oh, World Market! How I love thee!)

2. A brand new niece on the way! (One of my younger sisters has been in the hospital for the past few days, but we're hoping Lilliana Grace will make an appearance by the end of the day. Can't wait to "meet" her!)

3. Compliments from a stranger.

4. Realizing I'm becoming that person who gets totally excited to see the holiday decorations up at Michaels in October. (At least now I know who they're trying to reach with that business. YOU CAN ALL BLAME ME.)

5. A new favorite song: "You and I" by Ingrid Michaelson.

6. An old favorite song, recently rediscovered: "When the Rain Comes" by Third Day.

7. Looking forward to now having Sundays off with Jay. (He was able to rearrange his schedule, so now we finally have one day off together every week! Time for a happy dance, methinks.)

8. Making more time for the things I miss, the things I love and the things that make me giddy.

9. Pumpkin carving party with the best friend this evening!

10. Discovering new things about who I am. Realizing how important it is to stick to my guns and not always please everyone else. Working on the flaws that hold me back from being the person I desperately want to be. And being content with the girl I see in the mirror every morning.

  1. Yay for Sundays with your husband. Also, Third Day songs totally give me the shivers. Loves to you and cheers to gaining contentment while still working towards improvement. That's totally where I'm at right now.

And if all else fails, turn on the Aladdin soundtrack and just TRY to be mad at the world. :)

  5. How much do I love World Market?!

And I agree, #10 is my favorite. There's nothing better than looking in the mirror and being happy with the person looking back at you.

  6. Holy moly I discovered world market a month ago. We don't have one in WV but there is one like 10 miles from our apartment here in IL and it's AMAZING!!!! i've already spent a pretty penny there on decorations! hehe!

You made curtains out of towels? I need a tutorial please!

We have a box of holiday decorations that I already started sorting through this week ready to get them out. But i'm forcing myself to at least wait until Thanksgiving (or close to it...).

this is a fabulous post as always my dear! ;-)

  8. Oh I LOVE World Market. I also love #10, and if I could write that MY way, it'd say: "learn to let other people's emotions and feelings bounce off instead of absorbing everything. stop trying to fix everything and sometimes just let things work themselves out. oh, and take a deep breath."

    <3 you :)

  10. finagleing your schedules to get a day off together is pretty much the best thing ever, ever. matt and i have one day off together every two weeks (and every other two weeks he works night shift so i never see him at all). that one day completely saves me.

ps. jamaica wanted me to let you know it misses you and you should come back soon. it's gorgeous here. thinking of you! :)

  17. What fun news to hear you and Jay will have a day off together! Even when my boyfriend and I have tasks or projects or specific plans on our weekly date night, just knowing we have that same day every week to be together is such a joy. =)
