on a crafty show (and a shop update!)...

a crafty show.

On Saturday, my best friend and I had a small art and craft show. It ended up being quite delightful! I'd never sold any of my items in person, keeping mostly to my etsy shop and such, so it felt like a bit of a brave moment. And Marianne had never sold any of her paintings, so it was a first for her, as well. We invited a small group of family and friends to stop by for a delicious lunch, a cool beverage and some crafty goodness!

the table.

Setting up the table was half the fun. It made me really eager to do a "real" craft show this year! And, for the record, I'm not even sure how I was able to make all the items I did for this past weekend. Since beginning my new job, I've been telling myself that I simply don't have time to craft. But, really? I do. And I think that I need to take more time to create - it's just something that is such a part of me. I seem to get in a funk when I haven't let out all my creative energy.

business cards.

My business cards feature photos I've taken of my crafts as well as a few different logos I came up with. I love the MiniCards from Moo! So tiny and adorable beyond all reason!

ruffle cardigan pins.

Some ruffle cardigan pins - all in a row! (I made sure to add one to my outfit, too.)

Marianne's watercolor paintings leave me in awe. She is insanely talented. It's even more impressive to me because I took a watercolor class in college and it made me want to kill myself. (Dramatic much? I know.) The fact that she can look at a photo and turn it into an absolutely beautiful watercolor painting is the most impressive thing. She's incredibly talented - and I'm so happy I was able to be there for her first sale!

Marianne's paintings.

She also had some acrylic paintings available for sale. I desperately wanted to buy the koi fish one, but someone beat me to it...

"Padrick's Paintings"!

I'm so incredibly proud of Marianne for taking the next step with her art! It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy when people make the decision to share their creativity with more than just themselves.

the crafty ladies.

All things considered, it was a lovely afternoon! Complete with crafts, happiness and a few plastic cups of delicious sangria (as shown above). Thank you to everyone who took time out of their weekend to stop by our tiny craft show. It really meant the world to both Marianne and I.

Oh, and if you want to take a peek at my etsy shop, some of the items have made their way over there. I'm also having a June sale with discounts on some of my favorite items:

felt heart magnets.

felt heart magnets (available in pink or red!): $4.00/set

banner gift bag.

banner gift bag (several colors available!): $3.00/each

leafy felt wallet.

leafy felt wallet, teal with avocado leaves: $12.00

leafy felt wallet.

Actually, all my felt wallets are on sale for $12/each! Hurrah!

all in a row.

love is a cupcake postcards in chartreuse: $5.00/set

notecard sets.

love is a cupcake notecards: $8.00/set

goodie bag kit.

mason jar goodie bag kit: $5.00/set

goodie bag kit.

Thank you to everyone who continues to encourage me to pursue what I love! You are all gems. And your words mean more to me than you could ever know. Thank you!

  10. So sweet!
I've been trying to get my photographs to sell for a while now and I haven't had any success. I've got an etsy store, and have had for nearly four months and nothing has sold. It upsets me a little and makes me think that my photos aren't good enough for anyone to want.
But I like them and that's enough to keep me going. That and posts like this that make me think it IS possible!!
    Thanks!

  17. How lovely! Sounds like a wonderful afternoon, and how nice that you both have such support systems that you can host something like that and have people show! Craft shows do seem scary, until you do them, and your products are darling and speak for themselves.

So nice to "hear" your voice again and see what you have been up too. Darling as usual!
