on who I am (at the moment)...

currently.

I am...

...presently doing some morning blogging instead of running - darn it all. A girl has to have priorities, am I right? (I'm surely going to regret this when I'm gorging myself on garlic noodles at the Yardhouse tonight.)

...happy to have finished my first week at the new job (even though it wasn't a full five days, it was an incredible three). Since this is a personal blog, I don't want to dive into specifics - but, honestly? It's such a perfect fit. I'm working as a marketing assistant for a company that publishes art & craft magazines, and sells craft supplies. It's going to be ridiculously busy, but I'm ready. I know I am.

...realizing my need for the following things: a new planner, a film camera, more than one pair of slacks for work, and a photographic memory.

...ready to dive into this new schedule, and hopefully discover a better sense of balance in my days. I hope to have a more regular blogging schedule, running schedule, crafting schedule and let's-meet-up-with-friends-and-drink-wine schedule. Aaaaand schedule has officially stopped looking like an actual word. Hold me.

...attempting to find the best way to handle situations that I simply can't change, with people I love just the same. It's tough to know whether or not it's worth it to risk having my heart tangled up in these things. For the moment, at least.

...thrilled about a three-day weekend, and reconnecting with my husband. On the agenda for the day: a delicious brunch at home (well, scrambled eggs and English muffins at 11:00 count, right?), visiting our local farmers market, an afternoon movie and then happy hour at the Yardhouse. I keep thinking I need to have a day to photograph everything I do. Perhaps today would be a good one.

...feeling like I'm at exactly the place I need to be right now - which is what I've been aching to feel for a while now. It's not that I've reached the end of the journey, but it's more like I'm on the right course. Finally.

...thankful for all the new, incredible people I've met in the past few weeks. You raise me up. (Kind of like that one Josh Groban song. Except with less vibrato. And more giggling.)

...wondering at what point in my life I'll ever feel 100% comfortable in my own skin.

  16. I totally understand you about handling situations with people in your life. I'm going through the same thing and it hurts to watch what's happening, but I can't do much to stop it. (I tried reaching out and nothing happened.)

I love this post, though! Your new job sounds like so much fun!

  18. Love, love, love your 'who I am at the moment' posts. Such a good thing for a girl to do, to sort of document a moment in time, every month or so. :]

So happy that you've found a wonderful job that suits you, even though it's keeping you very busy I know you're really happy because it's something relateable. <3

A photographic memory would be nice, eh? ;]

  19. Oh yes. Film cameras are awesome. I work as a photographer occasionally... and I still use film as my main camera. I just don't like digital. You'll be amazed at what film can do if you know how to use it.
