on a photo and some words...

thoughts.

"What if funky, confusing, gray, lonely days were just part of a "system" that, in turn, created bright, rich, happy, friendly days? What if they were just meant to give deeper elements of your creativity a rest? What if they were deliberately crafted holidays, of a sort, devised by your inner psyche to relieve you from the pressure of artificial expectations?

Would you still bemoan them, wonder what's wrong with you, or fear that they'll never end?

Or, would they kind of tickle you pink?"

  1. I get those in my inbox too. I look forward to them every morning. Often, I feel that they know exactly what I need to hear for the day.

Also, I just love your hair in this pic. Nice angle.

  11. Love the photo . . . I think that without the down days, the up days wouldn't be as 'up'. They wouldn't be as exciting, and perhaps we wouldn't be as rested to enjoy them. Just quietly I'm a fan of down days, if they are scattered between the up days. :)

  15. love the picture. and as for the quote - so true. without being able to recognize what color gray is, you would never appreciate the boldness of red, the zest of blue and the punch of neon green.

there is no art to be found in a monochromatic life. It doesn't work for me that way, anyway.

  17. I'm going to have to check out those little notes! That's something I've learned more as I've grown older; grey times in life happen for a reason, and they make us appreciate the sunny ones that much more :)
