on a very busy week...
Sunday: Work 5:30AM-2:00PM, meet with friend in town for the rest of day. Find time to pack for Vegas shenanigans (yes, I get a free trip to Vegas for an awards dinner - thank you, job!).
Monday: Meet up with coworkers at 6:00AM to drive to Las Vegas (yes, we're driving - boooo, economy!). Run around Las Vegas for several hours, gamble away approximately $45, get dressed up for awards dinner, gorge myself on free food and drinks, remember that I'm actually there for a work function, enjoy a hotel room ALL TO MYSELF AHHHH, play music really loudly, watch what I want on TV, get all pillows to myself, fight the temptation of the mini-bar, sleep in the center of the bed all spread out like a spider monkey (because who is going to mind?).
Tuesday: Sleep in, order room service for breakfast, gamble away approximately $52, eat at a buffet, drive home, snuggle with Jay.
Wednesday: Begin packing for vacation, realize I own no shoes that cover more than 50% of my feet, freak out, go shopping, work 1:30PM-10:00PM.
Thursday: Laundry, cleaning, packing, resume general pre-vacation freak out.
Friday: Leave for our first destination (somewhere in Oregon, I believe) at the crack of dawn. Six hours into our drive, remember the bathroom light was left on and that my *hair-straightener, camera and box of Girl Scout cookies have been left on the couch. Begin to cry.
*This is totally going to happen, I just know it. The worst part of going on a trip is knowing I'm bound to forget something vital to my survival. Ah, well. Maybe I should just start my "what to bring" list now.
Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteI tend to forget something completely vital (like my hair straightener) when going on trips. It's a curse.
ReplyDeleteI would write a list as well. I think they're fun (um, nerd?).
Enjoy a hotel room all to yourself!
I just talked about having the bed to myself in my last post. Although, if it's a good hotel, I'm sure their beds are MUCH better than mine. But when I try to sleep in the middle of the bed (spider monkey-like), my body is in serious pain the next day! Weirdest thing.
ReplyDeleteHope you win big in Vegas!
What type of job do you have to travel and have get aways!!!
ReplyDeleteRenee
Somehow it never seems to matter if I make a list or not, I always forget something.
ReplyDeleteOmg, when I went to meet my bf for the first time (umm, across the country)...I FORGOT ALL OF MY MAKEUP!!!! It was horrible. Worst forgetting ever.
ReplyDeleteLists. It's the best way to go...or you could be OCD like me and have a very solid packing routine. I know exactly what I'm doing, I don't remember the last time I forgot something because I have a set order and it makes it easier.
ReplyDeleteBut still, lists...lists are the way to go.
I Always forget things too! Have fun sweetie!
ReplyDeleteHaha! I am definitely that girl that freaks about leaving 20 things on at home...an hour AFTER we leave. Yep, it's what I do. Lists are awesome...really.
ReplyDeleteVacation and Vegas! You go girl!
ReplyDeleteDude. You work the craziest hours!
ReplyDeleteWho needs straight hair? Jay could care less, right? :)
Have a great trip! I always forget my blow-dryer. That explains why everything always fits when I pack it...I don't have a massive hair dryer taking up crazy space in the suitcase.
ReplyDeleteVegas, whoo hoo!!
I ALWAYS forget something... and plenty 'o times it has been my hair straightener! just awful... LOL! Enjoy that hotel room and dance to that loud music in your underwear with that hairbrush microphone all you want girl! you deserve it! HAHA!!!! ;-)
ReplyDeletesounds like so much fun! you are one very lucky girl! :) can't wait to see pics! don't forget your camera..hehe.
ReplyDeleteThe ONE thing I regret Keith and I not doing before kids, is taking a vacation, just the two of us. You are going to have SO MUCH FUN. and it will be a memory to last forever!
ReplyDeletei always, always make a 'what to bring' list even when i'm going to my parents' house 2 hours away for the weekend. anal? probably. but at least i've remembered all the good stuff :)
ReplyDeletehave fun!
Your too cute! And I would so forget something, even if I made out a list! Have a great time on your trip!
ReplyDeleteAw, man! The girl scout cookies AND the camera?! I would've cried too. As a matter of fact, I'm a little teary eyed just thinking about it.
ReplyDeleteMy condolences.
I am packing to go home to the States for almost a month, and I am FREAKING OUT! I just know I'm going to forget something, and then I'll have to live without it...for a whole month...Ok,I'm gonna cry too!
ReplyDeleteReason #1 that I'll probably never get married: I too am a bedtime SPIDER MONKEY!
ReplyDeleteDoes this mean you are going to be away from us for 16 days? Like, as in no wishcake for 16 days? Boo. You'll be missed. And I envy your little Vegas vacay as well. What in the heck do you do for a living? :)
ReplyDeleteaw have a great time even if its without your hair straightener and your camera. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so funny! What a great planner you are that you allow time to freak out about your lack of appropriate shoes.
ReplyDeleteHave so much fun in Vegas, and again on your road trip! My fingers are crossed that you wont forget a single thing on the couch!
Aw. I always forget my straightener. And then refuse to let Mr. Beagle take pictures of me and he get's upset. LOL
ReplyDeleteLists definitely help me when packing, but sometimes I forget that I put something in my husband's suitcase so I would have more room in mine (nice, right?), and when we arrive, I think I don't have it, and I have a total melt down. Then he pulls whatever it is out, and I feel like such a wuss. Never fails!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe, fun, amazing trip!
That sounds like the greatest time ever! (And I also like to jump on my bed while listening to Beyonce- you are not alone with that love, and it's ALWAYS more fun to do in a hotel room!)
ReplyDeletei always make a list a few days in advance (cuz i always remember something important i had forgotten the next or so) and then check it off as i pack my bag... so far i haven't forgotten anything of major importance!
ReplyDeleteSo how did the idea of this road trip come up? Seems like such a fun, low-maintenance vacation.
ReplyDeleteI think the best part of hotel beds is sleeping like a spider monkey!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteOn behalf of the SD Office of Tourism, we’re glad you're having a great time in our state, and we hope you’ll visit us again soon.
Thanks again!
