on something I love...

something I love (now with emo poetry)... from wishcake on Vimeo.

1. Apparently today is an official video blogging day.
2. It took me three times to get this video recorded with sound. WHAT.
3. I could spend hours reading the ridiculous (and sometimes insightful) things I've written in my journals.
4. On a sidenote, our hot water is finally fixed.
5. So, yes, I am clean in this video.

I am dying right now at the magazine cut out page of that journal... did you ever do that to the front of your binders for school? OMG, flaaashbaaaack.

  9. You just couldn't be cuter. I was never good at keeping journals--I always liked the process of buying them and writing pages and pages the first day or two, then I would lose interest every single time.

Oh, and funny enough, I worked the red carpet circuit in NYC for a couple years, and one event I did with all the ABC casts (Grey's, Lost, Brother & Sisters, etc.), I was waiting for all of the big dogs to arrive and...the Hanson brothers came sauntering down the carpet instead! I was all, I didn't even know you guys were still around! (I mean, what, Kristin, they all died before the age of 25 or something?) And they all had wives and gaggles of kids and were pretty cute personality wise. Fourteen-Year-Old Self would have been thrilled; instead, 24-Year-Old Self was only mildly amused.

  11. That's a great idea!

I have a ton of journal entries about random boys, Zac Hanson, and Justin Timberlake.

    Yikes.

(You are wearing a tank top. Oh, SoCal.)

  12. I definitely had journal entries dedicated to Nick Carter and the fact that we were meant to be together.

  13. LOL! Okay, look at this blog post- i was too obsessed with Hanson! I named my journal after Taylor Hansen! LOL http://saltlakedesignergal.blogspot.com/2008/04/embarrassing-journal-entry-challenge.html

  15. I wrote emo poetry with a lot of words being misused... like "vindictive" and "confluence" and SAT words I didn't know at 14.

  16. I love journaling and while I have some of them, I wish I would have kept more of them. I think its awesome that you have boxes full!

  17. I've been journal-ing since I was a kid.

ps. and you look awesome. I like the canvas you have.

  18. I loved your little video blog (and emo poem)! If I went through my journals from middle school I'd find crazy lovey stuff from the days when all I thought of & listened to were the Backstreet Boys. Nick Carter was my dream. Oh gosh, very embarrassing to admit :o) It was what it was! Hope you have a great Thursday :o)

  19. So cute, I love how you have all your journals! I really wish I still had mine, but between all my moves they have disappeared. How tragic. :(

  20. How neat that you have all of those journals you can look back on! I started one or two over the years, but never kept them up and always had the notorious "sorry I haven't been writing" entries! HAHA! But now after seeing your stack of journals it almost makes me wish I had stuck with them so I could have something to read now!

  21. so i'm in missouri, it's like, 2:00 am and this video totally made me laugh :)

i think we definitely all had our hanson phase. that was probably about jr high for me when mmmbop was made big. im not sure what i ever journaled about them though ;)

ah kerri, now i kinda REALLY want to hear an entry about taylor, hahaaa. ;)

and i've always had bad writing! you are so lucky you got out of it cause your writing is ADORABLE now.

i think i had more things i wanted to write but it's late and i'm a little delirious so i might be forgetting some things or not even making sense at this point.

    thanks for the smiles!

  22. You are the biggest sweetie! I love that you kept all your journals. I did but one day I went through this horrible phase of wanting to forget some bits of the past so I threw them all away!! Even ones when I was 13. Gah! I hate that I did but nothing I can do now.

Anyway, I love your little stories! =)

  25. This is adorable! I love that you've kept all of your journals. It must be fun to go back through and read them.

  26. I think I am the only one that didn't have a huge love for Hanson. And don't all 15 year olds write emo poetry to talk about the pain of 15 year old life? IT'S JUST SO HARD! Hahaha, yay for teenage dramatics.

Love ya babe, can't wait to see you in less than 2 months! Call me!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh my goodness! Soooooo cute!!!! LOVE the Emo Poem!

PS... Can I have your hair?

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lady, you're fricking adorable!

And brave ... I get embarassed reading my old journal entries even to myself. I used to rip off lines out of Babysitter's Club Books and pass them off as my own feelings. Sigh.

Anyway - love it. Thanks for sharing! :)

  29. Wishcake ... you are too cute. I wrote that before I even read everyone elses comments. Apparently we all think that. I very much enjoyed your video blog. Have a great Thursday!!!

  30. mahahahha! I love the emo poetry! I'm sure I tried my hand at that.. oh and one of my english classes in college was writing and we had to write poetry. Oh the emo-ness.

oh and your Taylor Hansen journal?? you were not alone... except mine were dawson's creek and chris o'donnell (don't ask.. it was around the time the batman and robin movie came out.. )

  31. I can totally relate to your Taylor Hansen crush! My walls were a collage of his photos from 16 Magazine. He married a girl who he met at one of his concerts (according to his wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taylor_Hanson) and I can't help but wonder if she had a Taylor Hansen journal when she was 13!

  32. I wish I had been a better journaler when I was young! I'd always go back and rip pages out of old diaries because I thought I sounded ridiculous. If only I had known how much I'd appreciate it now!

Glad your water is back to normal. Yikes, no fun!

    ReplyDelete
  33. this is very cute! I love that you kept them all!

also, Im glad you finally have hot water again! what a relief!

  34. Love the taylor hanson shrine!!

  35. This makes me wish I had kept journals growing up. I had a diary when I was like 7 and then I didn't write again until later in high school. Oh well.

ps. I love the Taylor pic. He was all over my walls, haha.

  36. wow...i think i ended up throwing out a lot of my journals...
