on a few nubbins of news...

1. This morning I became even more aware of my apparent Twilight fixation, as my first thought after seeing the dreary, foggy weather was, "Ooohhh. Vampire weather." I have issues. Send help.

2. I was able to meet up with my original blogging BFF, Wendy, yesterday afternoon when she was in my neck of the woods. It's incredible that we've kept in touch all these years - we first became acquainted through my very first online journal (no link to that one; I'd like to keep my teenage awkwardness at bay) back in 2003. She was the first person that I genuinely bonded with, and helped ease my paranoia of everyone online being a creepy, stalking, pedophile. (Thanks for not being any of those things, Wendy.) We lost touch here and there throughout the years, but reconnected with each other within the last several months. And we were finally able to meet up yesterday! When we spoke with each other on the phone a couple days ago, we were all, "Aw, look. Here we are, talking like real friends!" And it makes me laugh because I do truly feel so at ease with her. She's such a genuine, thoughtful and expressive person. I'm so inspired by all she's done in life. We talked about a little of everything over a meal of delicious Cambodian cuisine, and it felt like a relaxed, regular friendship. She even got to meet Jay (the man, the legend!) and take a quick tour of the duplex (I didn't have time to obsessively clean, but I'll pretend I'm okay with that). It was a lovely afternoon, and a true testament to just how much you can bond with someone despite having it be from screen-to-screen. If that makes me weird, then I don't want to be normal.

3. I've come to the conclusion that I'm just going to throw caution to the wind and give up on working out until the New Year. With all that's been going on, it's just not going to happen. I did step on the scale last week and discovered that, quite amazingly, I haven't gained any weight. Which isn't actually good because now I'm going to want to gorge myself on anything I can get my hands on; including but not limited to: anything on McDonald's dollar menu, peppermint mocha's and copious amounts of holiday treats. (And I may or may not have cookies for breakfast at least twice a week. So help me God.) But don't worry. Come January, I'll be back to health and wellness. It'll be fun. (No, it won't.) I hopefully won't fall apart in the process. (Yes, I will.)

4. I went to see High School Musical 3 with my nine-year-old sister the other day. Is it terrible that I completely enjoyed it, and it totally made me want to be sixteen again? Of the adorable tree house scene, I will echo my sisters sentiments of, "This is probably my favorite part of the whole movie."

5. Is it time to decorate for Christmas yet? Please?

  1. I'm completely on board with you for the vampire weather, we had that the other day. I drive by a neighborhood called The Forks on my way to work, and I have started just calling it "Forks" for my own personal amusement.

I'm glad you have such a strong bloggy friendship - I wish there were other bloggers in my city but I have yet to find any who I am not already friends with! The search continues...

  4. I think we're going to pull out the decorations this evening. So fun! I'm excited. Tis the season for peppermint mochas... the excuse is that they are seasonal, so you must get them while you can.

    Holy moley they're addictive.

Oh, I want to decorate for Christmas so badly. I finally switched the Christmas station on in my car this morning and on my way to the gym - it snowed!

  9. I want to decorate for Crimble! Unfortunately, my husband is very traditional, and so he won't let me put the tree up till the 12th. I an going to satisfy my urge by dotting small Crimble-y things around that he wont notice!

  12. I too have a very dear friend that I met online. We began chatting on a board for pregnant women. She lives three states away and last year she and her husband and daughter made the trip to our house to meet in person. And it is SO thrilling to know that there are REAL people out there on the internet.
And, it's TOTALLY time to decorate for Christmas!!!

  14. I can't seem to separate Twilight life from my real life anymore... Also, HSM3 was amazing and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I even went to see it in Spain and bought the soundtrack. No one's judging :)

I just recently watched HSM 1&2, can't wait to get some time to catch up with #3!

  16. I love that now I can look forward to "vampire weather," I totally used to hate it but now? I kinda like it. Does this make me a dork? Yes.

A friend of mine wore a sweatshirt yesterday that said "Forks, WA. Makin' it sprinkle so you won't sparkle!" Love.

  17. HSM 3!! So fun! Loved it. My favorite scene was the waltz... I liked the choreography. Plus Efron is a really talented dancer. HAH. There's a sentence I never thought I'd say!

Speaking of meet-ups, are you going to that LA Blogger meet-up on Friday? email me!

Oh, I went to Disneyland yesterday and watched the holiday fireworks. SO READY for Christmas!!!
