on my inner fashionista...

Because I want to be as fabulous as Ev'yan (although, I think we all know that isn't humanly possible) here is my feeble attempt at being a fashionista.

Forever 21 tank (from about four years ago).
Old Navy cropped pants (thanks, Missy!).
Old Navy sandals (I absolutely live in these!).
Bitten by SJP locket (yes, I wear this with EVERYTHING).
Payless clutch (crazy, right?).
Also, still rocking the LC braid, because it's fun and all the cool kids are doing it.

Whenever I think I put together a cute outfit I'm all, "Ooooh! Photo time! Must document the cuteness!" Then I go find somewhere in our place where I can set the camera to somehow pull off the full-body-shot. (Usually ends up being on top of the dresser.) And then I go stand in the doorway, feeling like a goober, because I'm posing for a camera that's sitting on top of a dresser. It's hard to act natural when you're in that situation, folks. I saw this photo and wondered if I ever do, indeed, stick my butt out like that when I'm trying to act casual in real life.

Because that's something I think I need to be aware of.

Anyway, I like to document the cute outfits because I know it's only a matter of time before I'm wandering our duplex, back in my sweaty old tank top and ratty, yet seriously comfy gouchos. (What? Gouchos aren't cool anymore? I'm not listeeeennninggg lalalala.)

  1. The braid is cute! I keep meaning to try it out, but I keep...not. You've re-inspired me.

  2. Wait, what? Gauchos aren't cool anymore? I missed that memo. Well, that's okay, mine give me camel toe.

TMI? Shut up, I'm sleep deprived.

  3. I love the shoes!!! And I still rock gauchos - even though they make me look even shorter and kinda like a pirate...

  7. That outfit is mighty cute (umm, and that adorable clutch is from payless? Teach me your ways!) -- and I won't judge about the gauchos. I still have about 5 pair from 3 or 4 years ago that I wear around the house. Yeahhh, they're ratty, but oh so comfy!

  8. So adorable! I was going to take a picture of my outfit yesterday too but then didn't get the chance until the end of the day and was all wrinkled. haha. Oh and I totally did the braid this weekend! I love it because with my curly hair its kind of hippie-ish which is always fun on the weekends.

  13. i was totally about to take a picture of me in my shorts this morning, which would have made my post about being SENT HOME FROM WORK TO CHANGE all the more hilarious.

you look adorable, btw, and i so never think to buy purses/clutches at payless. maybe because my payless stinks? i think so.

oh, and i was totally rocking a pair of brown gauchos the other day, i'm so not a person that cares. haha

  16. My hair is so unruly. I could never get it that perfect. Ever.

I have those SAME PANTS in black. They make me look super short, unfortunately. :(

Isn't Ev'yan the most adorable creature ever?!?

    Ever.

    Future model. Or something.

  17. HAHA; you guys crack me UP. I'm telling you, if you knew where I got half of my clothes you'd be astounded; even more so when you find out how long I've had them (at the very most, since 8th grade.) Although... I must say that I am flattered. :] & blushing.

I used to LOVE Gauchos. I had a black pair & I wore them with everything. Now, they are being used as pajamas (they are made of a cloth material.) They look fabulous on you! I have to commend you on 2 things:

1.) That you are brave enough to wear white pants; I have NEVER worn white bottoms. I'm too messy.

2.) You are sporting a clutch. I cannot carry clutches, simply because they're too small. I mean, where would my kitchen sink fit in a clutch?

Nevertheless, you look darling. :] & I wish my hair was long enough to do the "LC-Braid." I think it's adorable.

  19. Wow. My inner fashionista died a long time ago, like when I was 7 and my mom curled half my bangs forward and half of them backwards and then teased and sprayed them stiff. Yeah, I never made a full recovery. However, I can recognize good fashion, AND good writing! I enjoy your blog so much and I'd like to give you the Brilliante (yeah, with an E, don't ask) Blog award to you! You are one of the blogs I look forward to reading. Check out my latest post to pick up your award and to be the next Presenter.
