on the joy of success...
Well, I can finally say that my search for a cute summer frock has been successful. I can't tell you how many potato sack dresses I had to sift through to find this gem, but let's just say there were many. It came down to the wire, as I was shopping only hours before Jay and I had to leave for the award dinner last night, and I was stressing out completely.
"No! No, you will NOT wear that same old black dress to a Spring event! I forbid you! Er, I forbid myself, I mean. Okay, I talk to myself entirely too much. Sweet moses."
I decided to give Target a try, and I saw the dress on one of the promotional posters in the store - for the Issac Mizrahi collection. It looked all cute and retro on the model, but more often than not, a dress with no shape has the tendency to make me look like a redwood stump.
However, I decided to give it a go anyway. I wasn't finding much else that had really caught my eye. And I did really like the simplicity of it, and the fact that it had a certain retro charm. It's not something that I think I would normally even try, but I had nothing to lose.
Lo and behold, once I tried it on I absolutely fell in love. I may or may not have done a little victory dance in the dressing room, come to think of it. And for only $34.99? Heck, yes.
(On a side note, are you digging my model pose? The emo stare into the distance? The pidgeon-toed stance? That's right. I subscribe to Glamour. You better recognize.)
