on a few things for the new month...

1. New banner. It makes me laugh. I was going to go with some classy pattern again, but I was in a weird mood. Obviously.

2. Apparently I have a financial planner now. Does that mean I'm actually an adult? I met with her this morning, and it was actually pretty exciting. I like the idea of investing and all that jazz. I guess I've just never really thought about it - we have a high yield savings account and both have 401k's, but they're just there. We don't really keep track. So, I'm glad that I'm actually going to have some idea of what's going on with all of that. However, now I have to go on a scavenger hunt for all my benefit details and 401k information, yadda yadda yadda. Then my financial planner will make out our portfolio. I always wanted a portfolio. Kind of makes me want a briefcase, too.

3. This morning, I decided to sacrifice sleeping in for a morning run. And it was amazing. I think that I'm discovering a certain sense of pride as I've begun to really take my health into my own hands. It's one thing to be sixteen and naturally a size zero, still eating my weight in taco bell and stitting on by butt watching Felicity reruns on WE for six hours. But it's another to be fighting for something - fighting for my goal weight, fighting towards another day where I make an effort to nourish my body with healthy foods, fighting towards a more active lifestyle that not only keeps me going but also brings me joy. And that's where I am. And I have to say, I rather like it.

  6. Anyone who can drag themselves out of bed for an early morning run has my respect. I can't even get myself out of bed to have time for a proper breakfast on most days.
