on a very good morning...

Today was such a good day.

We woke up this morning and snoozed the alarm no less that three times. When I finally rolled out of bed, my hair looked miraculously alike how it did when I went to bed the night before. (Don't you just love that? Hello, low maintenance.) A little makeup and a little hairspray and I was out the door with Jay to run some errands.

We went to Best Buy, but they didn't open until 1000 (boo!). We then went to Bed, Bath and Beyond because we had a gift certificate there, but when we were walking in we realized we'd brought our 20% off coupon and not our gift certificate (frick!). We then decided to go to Costco, and were glad we had our Costco Amex card that let us get in an hour early (wee!). We got some groceries (our Costco staples are Cheerios, Progresso soups, cheese bagels and lunch meat) and spent our yearly rebate coupon on an iHome ipod dock (so excited - I've wanted one forever!). After that, we enjoyed a classy lunch of Costco hot dogs (those things are cheap and amazing).

We finally made it back to Best Buy and bought a security system for Jay's car. We're getting it installed tomorrow. I think we've come to the conclusion that the whole random car issue must have just been the result of someone trying to steal it and then either getting caught or giving up. At this point, we're just so very thankful that we have his car and we're not having to deal with a stolen vehicle! Gah. That would have made my head explode.

Anyhow, I'm always glad to have a morning with the husband. It starts the day off right.

After that, Jay was off to work. I jammed out to my "a little emo" mix (maybe I'll share it with you sometime) on our new iHome, then got ready for my long evening at work.

(One a side note, I'm completely giddy as I plan our next trip home to Washington State - no matter how long we've been in California, it's still home. My parents are generously offering to pay for tickets so we can come visit this summer. (On and side note of this side note, my parents are amazing in a million different ways.) It's been too long since Jay and I have both been able to make the trip together to see our families; I absolutely can't wait! I'm thinking July...)

  1. I can totally relate to this post. Husband and I love Costco hot dogs, it's the only way I can bribe him into going with me. And I am going to Washington state in June -- hurrah!
