on the anniversary (photo edition)...

When we arrived to our room at the Disneyland Hotel on the 24th, they had two "Happy Anniversary" pins and a signed photo with our names on it, waiting in our room. (Cheesy? Or awesome? Well, it made me happy, and I'm not ashamed to say that.) It was pretty adorable. Ah, that Disney magic never gets old.

(Yes, this photo is now on our fridge.)

Jay wasn't the best sport when it came to wearing the pins. I became a pin nazi and even made him wear his into Circuit City the next day (our actual anniversary), because he had refused to wear it for a while the night before. Vengeance is mine!

This was the view from our hotel room. Beautiful California sunset.

Yeah, if it had been about twenty degrees warmer, I would have been all over this pool. Pirate ship? Yes, please.

It's me! We thought we could catch the sunset in the background, but all we got was my washed out face. Stunning, really. (Or not.)

The hotel room made me so happy. Everything had that Disneyland touch, from the headboard, to the wallpaper, to the shampoo (which had little Micky ears on top - gah!), to the lights.

Speaking of lights, I love this light. I wouldn't have it in my home, but how cute is it, anyway?

Me and my sleepy eyes the morning of our anniversary.

We enjoyed a yummy breakfast at Denny's in the morning. Don't judge me for my love of Denny's.

We had a few errands to run during the day, but in the afternoon we walked around Downtown Disney for a while. It was a beautiful day. We were going to go to one of the nicer restaurants at the resort, but it didn't open for dinner until 5pm, and we were already hungry (and didn't want to stay out too late, considering Jay had to work on a film project all night), so we decided to go to one our favorites: the Rainforest Cafe.

This is the face he gives me when I say, "LOOK HAPPY!" You're in a rainforest, Jay. Don't worry, be happy.

I love this restaurant. It's so random. It's so decked out that you genuinely feel like you're in the rainforest. It will have a storm every half-hour or so, when the lights get dim and it sounds like it's raining and all the animatronic animals freak out. Makes me happy. We had steak and shrimp which were ahhhmazing. I kid you not. Everything was drenched in butter, which is basically my own, personal, heaven.

My adorable grinning husband.

He couldn't seem to get a clear photo of me in front of the restaurant, so I had to settle on my washed out face again. Sexy!

The sunset on the drive home! It was a lovely anniversary. Many more to come!

  1. Happy anniversary. Your husband's happy face looks oddly similar to my husband's happy face. I'm a bit of a picture addict. I could start a collection of my husband looking complete unimpressed with me taking yet another photo of him.

  2. Aw how cute, happy anniversary! I love Rainforest Cafe too, it's so fun, and quite tasty.

  3. What a fun anniversary! My hubby would never go for it, so I'm glad yours did. Too cute!

  4. ok first, let me just say that the rainforest cafe rocks! i too drug my husband there for our anniversary (#2) and he too was in HEAVEN! ha. not.

your blog makes me laugh and for that i am grateful to have stumbled upon it via Ashley Forrettes blog!
