on six things...

Can I just tell you how much I adore the new place? I love it so much that I want to take it behind the middle school and get it pregnant. (Tell me you watch 30 Rock. Tell me.) I have stories to tell about it (Mini-blinds in the shower window? No hot water = barely surviving the coldest shower in all of humanity = hunky fireman landlord crawling around in the dark trying to fix it but to no avail? Freakishly high cabinetry? A brief yet harrowing run-in with about twelve crickets?) but for now I've been tagged by Andrea (who is amazing and I love her; go read her blog) and considering my affinity for making lists, I thought I'd give it a go.

Without further ado...

Here are the rules:
Link to the person who tagged you.
Post the rules on your blog.
Share six (6) non-important things/habits/quirks about yourself.
Tag at least 3 people at the end of your post and link to their blogs.
Let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

1. I'm a pen fanatic. I'm not sure when this happened, but it did. And it's always with a certain pen, too. If I'm at work, holding my favorite pen and I need you to sign something, I'll straight up find ANOTHER pen and hand it to you to sign with. I do this because once I had a mild stroke when a customer walked out the front door with my pen. I wanted to cry out, but realized just how awkward that would be. So, yeah. That's my issue. (I think people at work are catching onto this, too, because the girl who orders supplies bought me my own box of pens last week. You do not know how happy this makes me.)

2. I have an eclectic (and slightly embarrassing) taste in music. I like alot of different things, depending on my mood. At any given moment, you could hear me belting out the High School Musical soundtrack, random 90's country songs ("Maybe it was Memphis" by Pam Tillis pretty much makes my life), a celtic ballad a la Charlotte Church, some random Hanson song or something from the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (because I can pretty much sing through that entire show; don't dare me, I may have to prove it).

3. Things that irritate me beyond all comprehension: Teeth grills, especially when worn by white people (a-hem, Kendra from The Girls Next Door). When the counter is covered with crumbs or the stove has baked on food and who ever was cooking last doesn't clean it up (this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, you know). People telling me how white I am (if you have to, please consider using the word "fair" as opposed to "white"). George Foreman grills (cleaning ours gives me an ulcer). This guy from the Food Network. People who breathe too loudly on a regular basis.

4. I think I'm a bit OCD when it comes to organization. The way I'm going, I'll someday end up with a knife drawer like this. (Although, I'm also the neat-freak that will also have a few drawers that are crammed full of random nubbins and things that I throw in there just to give the rest of the place the appearance of cleanliness. Kind of like Monica Gellar's closet in Friends.)

5. I have a serious addiction to crappy reality TV shows. The fact that I can name off most of the contestants on I Love New York 2 isn't something I should be proud of, is it? Yeah. Didn't think so.

6. Have I mentioned that I'm the anti-sport? I have absolutely no interest in sports, whatsoever. (Not sure what I'm going to do with myself if I end up with a home full of sons someday. Put them in musical theatre? Sure.) I do like going to hockey games, though. Because who doesn't like a good old fight on the ice? Who?

And I'm no good at tagging. It makes me nervous. However, I do expect to see all you lovelies filling these out.

  1. I always keep pens on me that people can borrow without having to give them my special pens.

Glad you're loving the new place! :)

  2. you hate alton brown!? how? why?

rachael ray is eons worse. especially since alton is magnificent.

  3. ps. i do watch 30 rock, and i'm glad you love the new digs!

  4. I, too, can sing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat in its entirety. I occasionally burst out in song at The Beau Named Joe: "Joseph, how can we ever say all that we want to aboooout you? We're so glad that you came our way, we would have perished withoooout you!"

  5. I've had a HSM song in my head all day yesterday and now since I read this, you made me think of it, so it will be in my head again today.

    I need fabulous!

  6. 1. I am totally with you on the pen thing. There was a mini-crisis in my office when my favorite pen was stolen/lost forever.

    2. Pam Tillis = queen of 90's country music! Remember Shake the Sugar Tree? I loved that one, too!

    3. There is a woman who works closely with my organization, and she holds the phone really close to her mouth so I can hear the end of every P, or T, or any other letter of the alphabet ESPECIALLY LOUDLY.

  7. So what's your pen? (I think everyone has a pen they are loyal to.)

  8. Alexis: Heehee, glad I'm not the only one. It would probably be better to keep one on me at all times, so I'm not scrambling around for another one while I am holding a perfectly useful pen at that same moment.

Maria: I think it's just something about how he is constantly spouting off cheesy lines. He seems so...fake. Makes me want to punch him in the abdomen. I wish it didn't, but it does. :) And isn't 30 Rock just amazing? Greatest show on TV right now. I'm convinced.

Renee: Ahhh! I love you! We should hang out and sing the entire show together! The only part my husband knows is in the beginning when they're introducing the brothers, and he just screams out, "JAAACOB! JACOB AND SONS!" It's not too fun.

Jamie: The HSM soundtrack makes me happy. Do not be ashamed to have it in your head! I kind of wish I was twelve, and then I'd be all over that Mr. Efron fellow.

Valerie: I don't remember that Pam Tillis song! But rest assured, I will have it on my iPod within the next 24 hours. And omigosh how do you handle that phone lady you wrote about?! Gah. That would kill me.

Andrea: The Pen of Choice (at the given moment) is a Pilot Precise V7. Black ink. I love it so.
