on being a wee bit disappointed...

It kind of difficult to be stuck at work, forcing friendly banter, when all you really want to do is curl up under the desk and cry into a paper napkin. And eat a cookie. A really ridiculously large cookie. Dipped in hot fudge.

It always feels good to talk with my mom. You know how mom's are. I'm lucky enough to have a mom that will listen to whatever I have to say, and no matter what the situation, will make me feel better. She's the one person who knows exactly what I want to hear, knows exactly what to say to make me feel like things will be okay.

That's not to say that my husband isn't a good shoulder to cry on, but there's just something about a mom.

So, quite obviously, we didn't get the place. And that's that, I guess.

When it rains, it pours, right? Right.

(I swear, If I am forced to endure Stevie Nick's rendition of "Silent Night" for the sixth time this evening, I'm going to eat my own arm. Wait. Seventh. It just started playing again. Seriously.)

  1. Oh, I'm so sorry it didn't work out. How disappointing:(

You can come live with us. We have a whole empty room that is freshly painted and has new curtains. (I'm excited about the curtains.) No seriously though. Thing about it:)

  2. Aw I'm so sorry! I know how excited you were. I felt that way when the first house we put an offer on was rejected. I really thought we were going to get that house. I had all the furniture laid out in my head....and then, after another month or so, we found *our* house and it is SOOOO much better than the one we almost bought. I'm sure the same will happen to you.

  4. Who do I have to beat up now? You totally deserved that!

  5. OMG, I meant you totally deserved the house, not you totally deserved being rejected. Wow I'm a terrible communicator sometimes.
