on the weekly linkage...

  1. Something about Tom Cruise's bangs just doesn't ring true. Creep much lately? Is it just me, or is it totally a cross between Hitler and a nine-year-old boy who's mom went crazy with trimming the sideburns and took them clean off and figured she could just leave the bangs freakishly long to compensate for the lack of sideburn-age? (On a sidenote, the commentary on this site is completely and utterly hilarious. I kid you not.)
  2. I must link to this site, for some random thing called Cat Town. (I feel as though I've linked to it before, but alas. It's just that good. And the link wasn't working for me this morning, but it could have been my computer - gaaaaa.) I'm sorry, but it's so rediculous that it's funny. If you don't find this funny, then you and I need to have a serious talk about where our relationship is going.
  3. This cat? Seriously? If my cat decided to start sleeping like a human, I'd have issues sleeping at night.
  4. Am I the only one who finds Blake Lively absolutely adorable? Like, unbearably adorable? And I give her props for rocking the fair skin. Holla.
  5. How About Orange has some faaaabulous (said in sing-songy voice, obv.) tutorials here for everything from wall art to magnets to bookmarks to pincushions. Check 'em out.
  6. How domestic does it make me when one of my fantasies is to someday own one of these? (Don't fret. It's just a vacuum.)

In other news, someone in facilities decided it would be a good idea to plant a teensie palm tree smack dab in the center of the yard in front of my complex. Right. Because that's not awkward at all, and totally makes up for the $40 increase in our rent.

But, alas. I'm happy because my apartment is spotless thanks to the nearly-all-day cleaning I did yesterday, I finally purchased a quilt that fits the cover we have on our bed (Am I the only one dumbfounded by the fact that you now must pay for bags at Ikea? Yes, I'm talking the regular old plastic bags to put your purchases in. I nearly called the sales associate a warmonger, but considering I'm not exactly sure what that means, I thought better of it.), had carne asada for lunch today, and...it rained a little, which I always like.

  1. Okay, first great posts, I haven't been over here lately for some reason. Really funny! Second gather your courage and do the etsy thing, I felt the same nervous way, but I cannot even explain the way I felt the first time I actually sold something. It was great validation. And third, so funny you said that about the swap-bot bird swap--I just signed up for it last night! Talk about great minds!
