on mail and other goodness...

The package from my mom came in the mail today. Included:

- My parents' old Minolta camera. Ancient, but you can't imagine how excited I am to bike ride* to the store tomorrow morning to get some film. Ahhhh! A film camera! So excited! Weeeee!
- Two Quick Cooking annual cookbooks. If I ever do, in fact, get around to making a decent meal in this joint, these will come in handy. I watch enough of the cooking channel, I have enough of an interest in cooking, I'm generally okay when I do put something together that is of more substance than a grilled cheese sandwich (although, I must say, my grilled cheese sandwiches are to dieee for) - but for some reason, I never get around to making actual meal meals. (Especially if it involves the George Foreman. Because although people seem to think those grills are God's gift to the kitchen, mine gives me anxiety. Not sure why. Could have something to do with the fact that every time the husband uses it, it will sit in the kitchen for a day and a half without being cleaned and I always have to clean off day old meat juice that I know the cat has been licking at night after we go to sleep, which isn't all that appealing.) Have I mentioned that my husband is a better cook than me, too? This was not in my plan of domestication. Although, I'm not going to lie, I do appreciate it.
- Take Care of Yourself: The Complete Illustrated Guide to Medical Self-Care. A-ha! If Jay thought I was a hypocondriac before, he has no idea what's coming to him.

So, yay. A day with mail is always a good day...

Otherwise, work was work. A customer thought I was someone else and started talking to me as if I was such. It's always awkward, and I never know when to stop them. Eh. Although, that's better than when someone said, "Yes, sir," to me last week. Yeah. Don't even want to start on that one.

Some of my friends have really been encouraging me about the whole back-to-college thing. I really have to decide what it is I want to do. I'm really leaning towards either photography or some sort of design program right now. But then I think of all the other things I'm interested in, and wonder if I'm missing out not studying them. My inability to make any decision is a serious issue! Gaaaaa. But for now, I just need to apply. Focus focus focus. Here's where a personal assistant would come in handy, to take care of all the paperwork and meetings and yadda yadda yadda and then afterwards, we could go to the beach and run through the water in our underwear while the paparazzi take photos of us a la Britney Spears. Well, maybe not.

(But I could do for some help with the whole paperwork thing.)

* note: I'm saying bike ride as opposed to drive, because I'm always so painfully aware of my tummy fat while hunched over at the computer. I think once Jay took a photo of me while I was on the computer and had a small seisure trying to delete the photo as fast as humanly possible. Yeah. Good times.

  1. I can't cook at all - I'm horrible at being domestic. Fortunatly, my hubby is a wonderful chef.

I would love to be able to ride my bike somewhere - but I live on top of a "mountain" and would never be able to get back home!!

Oh, the photos on my blog are almost always extra photo ATCs I make for myself. I take a regular photo and cut into 2 cards (2.5" x 3.5"). What type of design are you interested in? I know a lot of good magazines for graphic and interior design.

  2. Hey girly... have a new blog, and the link is on my page! Check it out!

    BTW-Miss you like mad!

  3. I tagged you - with a crafty questionaire!
