on the fashion police...

I just have to say that I absolutely adore the fact that preggers tops are completely in style, and I completely embrace that. (To a certain extent. Especially after having someone random ask me once if I was, indeed, pregnant. I didn't realize that happened in real life, but apparently it does - go me.) However, I have returned from a shopping extravaganza (if that's what I can even call it) at Old Navy, only to be shot down. I find it highly unfortunate that in order to wear this dress (see image at right) and look even halfway decent, you have to be 90lbs. and have absolutely no boobs. Or arm fat. Or body fat, in general. (Ever wonder why Mischa Barton can pull it off? Meh.)

Booooo, Old Navy! Even though I so desperately wanted this adorable frock, I will not even purchase this dress when it's on clearance in two weeks because nobody can buy it because nobody looks GOOD IN IT! (Except maybe Mischa Barton.) Aaaarrrgghh! I'm pretty sure if I wandered around the apartment in this dress, Jay would genuinely be suspicious of me being "with child", so to speak. Which would be fun, but not so good for the self-esteem.

Having said that, I did find a pair of adorable shorts. And I can never find shorts that look cute on me that don't ride up in the crotchal reigon, so, perhaps my love for all things Old Navy hasn't wavered after all. For the most part.

Okay, enough wasting time - I need to go do laundry or I'll have absolutely nothing to bring with me on my trip. Hello, procrastination. It also doesn't help that it's about 100 degrees and our laundry facility has no. Air. Circulation. Whatsoever.

  1. I'm sorry about the dress! I want one too but it's obviously not gonna work for me. I don't want people to think I'm carrying a child although i keep having nightmares about it. haha. Hope your trip goes well!
