on sunglasses and such...

Last week, I had both pairs of my good sunglasses. (I had recently found one of them in the dark recesses of a drawer during my organization spree, and was utterly delighted. I wore them inside the apartment, at night, for a good two hours - just because I had missed them so.) Now, I have neither pair. Right before my vacation. Perfect. What really cooks my noodle (can I say that?) is that I can't even remember the last time I wore either pair. So...nice. I had to resort to buying new glasses. Added to extremely long pre-vacation list. (At least I found a cheap-o pair for under $5. That way I'm still open to any sunglasses purchasing while in Florida.) Also, I can't find myself one pair of new shorts that fit properly. I do not have some sort of hard-to-fit figure, so...what's the issue, people? I'm going to have to survive Florida wearing only jean capris and my sole pair of bermuda shorts. Laaaaame. I did find a jean skirt (which traditionally I am quite against anyone wearing over the age of seventeen, but I made an exception based on the cuteness factor) at Steve & Barry's. Have you SEEN Sarah Jessica Parker's Bitten line? My new favorite thing. Everything there is under $20. And their jewelery? Don't even get me started. I can now afford to hop on the long-gold-necklace trend, and not break the bank doing it. And all their clothes are absolutely adorable. What do you expect? One of their slogans:

"A sweater shouldn't cost as much as your groceries."

Um, hello? Isn't that what I've been saying for years? Thank you, Sarah Jessica Parker, for reading my mind. I think I love you.

Regarding said vacation, I'm so ready to be GONE for a week. Actually, I'll be off of work for a total of 9 days, which is completely amazing. I don't remember the last time I've been off that long - not even for my honeymoon. Well needed (dare I say well deserved?) break.

I get to leave work early to get all my last-minute errands done. I'm dropping keys off at cricket's place - she is taking over feeding responsibilities for Nuni while we're away (you're a goddess!). Now he won't have to starve. Or go scrounging through the cabinets for food. Granted, he'll be howling away at the moon (seriously, what cat does that?) while we're away, but hopefully he won't make a disaster of the place. Other than that, I just have packing to do tonight, and...try to convince myself that I haven't forgotten anything, because I know I'm going to lose sleep over something like that.

So, peace out! I'll be back on the 27th! Don't miss me too terribly much.
